Ian Warden’s watercolours are a constant portrayal of the inspiring scenery and wonderful people of Southern Africa. Colourful brushstrokes depict the beauty of our land and give insights into the lives of it’s people; their challenges and occasionally their heart-warming successes – often despite seemingly insurmountable odds.

A Kaleidoscope of Colour ...

… takes us through Southern Africa from a remote village in the foothills of the Drakensberg to a bustling bus depot in the quiet village of Inhambane, Mocambique.

Ian continues to explore alternative mediums and inventive styles, but finds himself drawn back to his first love – Watercolours –
which he uses in a way which his work its distinctive appeal.  Although, by self-admission, not a “figure artist”, he loves to depict the working people of Southern Africa
